Exchange server e-mail w/ OWA
A Microsoft exchange server based e-mail system allows you to do more with your e-mail than you can with traditional systems.
Unlike POP3 e-mail, if you download e-mail from the server to your computer, it will no longer be on the server. If you want to check your e-mail from another computer then you will only see new mail which has arrived since you last checked. Exchange server stores all of it’s e-mail centrally, and no matter where you connect from, you will always see a copy of your entire mailbox, including all of your sent e-mail.
You no longer have to wait for e-mail to come through to you! As MS exchange server is constantly connected to the Internet, any new e-mail gets delivered to the exchange server, and directly to
you instantly without having to wait for the periodic checks for new mail.
Exchange server also offers additional features such as shared calendars, reminders, meeting requests, as well as being able to view other user’s calendars to check their availability. All of this is stored in one place for simplicity.
For users who are also on the move, Exchange server has it’s own built in webmail system which you can access securely from anywhere in the world. Smart phones, Blackberries and many newer phones can also communicate directly with Exchange server so you can also have your contacts, e-mail, and appointments on your phone, instantly, and wherever you go.
